How can Hickory Tree Help in Treating Diseases

Most herbalist and those familiar with hickory tree knows that it is a known tree useful in treating several illness, it is also noted for its strength, the toughness of its wood, and for making axe handles and wheels of vehicles of various kinds and many other things where a strong wood is needed.

The inner bark and leaves have medical properties; they are laxative and useful in purifying the system, also good for washing ulcers and sores, for diarrhea and kindred troubles. It is also very useful in colitis. Take a heaping tablespoonful to a quart of boiling water, let simmer fifteen minutes, strain off, and use as an enema.

To take internally, use one teaspoonful of the granulated bark or leaves to one cup of boiling water, let simmer thirty minutes, strain off, and drink from one to three cups a day.
